MY REVIEW: This was our first visit; it was a
Saturday evening around 7:45pm and the food was great. The people were
very nice and explained any thing we asked questions about. It is great
to find Mediterranean food where we did not have to drive so far for.

MY REVIEW: This place is a gem, the food is great all of it...
the service is somewhat slow due to the fact they cook everything once
it is ordered. This is a must try if you like mediterranean food.

MY REVIEW: Hurray! They are open again after a long spell of
being “closed due to remodeling” I didn’t notice any remodeling!
Actually I don’t think anything changed a bit, the prices seemed to be
the same and the food great as always. Food prep was a bit slow, but to
be expected with going from fresh to order raw cuts on kabobs to the
grill.
For those that have not been there:
Cafeteria style ordering from a simple picture menu and pay up front,
take your number fill your drink at the beverage bar and find your own
seat.
The attached grocery store is interesting to browse as you wait for you
food.
Good eats…ummm well everything I have had so far has been great! I would
suggest the chicken and the Lamb is also very delicious.
Cons:
There appears to only be seating enough for about 30 folks, it does get
busy around lunch but I never had to wait for a table

MY REVIEW: this is our go-to place for mideastern food..it is
fantastic..we used to drive over to westheimer to get mediterranean &
tote it back in coolers, of course we spent a small fortune to have this
at home for several days..imagine our delight to find Zamani's..i've
read the reviews @ the ambiance..we go there for the food..actually my
family really enjoys the nice quiet atmosphere & even tho the mideastern
music is on, which we also enjoy, it is not intrusive as in some other
places..we often order extra dips & dolmas to take home..also we are so
happy to have the grocery close by..as for the counter service people,
they have always been very helpful, courteous & pleasant to us..i hope
they stay here forever...

MY REVIEW: Really good food. I think this would be a great
alternative to the typical pizza or chinese take-out. (The others are
right on when they say it's not a fancy dining atmosphere.) We had the
kofta kabob plate and kofta sandwich. Although I enjoyed the sandwich, I
kept picking at my husband's rice. Next time, I will order the plate so
that I can have my own! We also had the hummus with pita, which was very
good-it had a tang to it that was unique. The only thing I didn't like
was the cucumber yogurt sauce; it was way too watery. We will be back.

MY REVIEW: This place is great...Their grilled items are
probably the best, next to their lamb and chicken shawarmas. Their lunch
items are fascinating too simply because their never consistent and
always a surprise. If you are going there for the first time and have no
idea what to order, i would suggest the grilled items or the shawarmas.
And make sure you ask for extra garlic sauce, you won't regret it.

MY REVIEW: The food is fabulous, but lately the service has
slipped. Two weeks in a row, I placed carry-out orders (there's really
no ambiance at the place to make it an attractive dining-in option),
only to show up to be told that they hadn't prepared my order. Both
times, I had to wait 20+ minutes in the bland restaurant to get it
ready. This is disappointing, because my family likes to make it a habit
to order carry-out from Zamani at least twice a month.

MY REVIEW: Absolutely delicious ethnic food! The prices are
VERY reasonable. The most expensive item on the menu is the Mixed Grill
and it was under $8.00 and the hummus is as smooth as can be. The pita
bread is thin and velvety. There is little ambiance but, it is very
clean. There are chairs and tables but, don't look for fancy decorations
or a designer interior. You order the food at the counter and are
assigned a number. When your order is ready they call the number. You
dispense your own soft drink, tea, or water. The food more than makes up
for any perceived short comings in the ambiance. I am going back for
lunch again tomorrow. As far as I am concerned, I have found a new
favorite eatery!

MY REVIEW: Wow ... something different and very good.
Stong Points: Wonderful, easy, friendly service; good food, good prices,
good portions, authentic in every detail.
Weak Points: Ambiance ... but who cares! Take it home.
This is a place I drove by 100 times and didn't even give it a look. If
you have any doubts about the authenticity, judge it by the diverse
clientle.
We read the review @ www.b4-u-eat.com when looking for something
different and found a place we will probably visit at least once a
month.
You need either a spirit of adventure or previous experience with middle
eastern or mediterranean food to appreciate, but this is the "real
deal".

MY REVIEW: If you love Mediterranean food, you'll love
Zamani's! If you don't like Mediterranean food, try Zamani's! I am so
grateful to have them located like many others have said, in this part
of town! Their attached grocery is also a blessing. I have enjoyed
EVERYTHING I have tried there and I do mix it up quite a bit. I love
their tabouleh salad (sp??), and it's some of the best I've had next to
homemade. Many nights when my husband and I don't feel like cooking, or
grilling or doing leftovers, we go to Zamani's. I love their cooking so
much, I could go there twice a week but try to limit my visits to once a
week. It's very difficult though! Their prices beat just about anyone
else in town and the quality and portion size are both outstanding. It's
a "deli" style restaurant so if you're looking for ambiance, take it
home. But if you can place that aside and go for the friendly folks who
own the place and their wonderful eats, then you'll be delighted I'm
sure! This is my absolute favorite place to eat anything "ethnic" in all
of Houston. Go today and try them yourself!!!!!! A+++

MY REVIEW: Eating here for me is a weekly ritual. I don't
think that you can get a better plate of fast "ethnic" food in this part
of town. The Hummous and copious amounts of pita bread alone can fill
you up, and for very little money. If you spend a little more, the
chicken kabob (removed from the stick and placed over rice with other
side dishes) is some of the best chicken I've tasted anywhere - thick,
tasty chunks of white meat served with a side of some kind of garlic
mayonnaise or butter for you to dip lightly into is superb. There is
usually some kind of curry dish that changes day by day, which is also
generally good. If you are a vegetarian, then it seems that there is
more than an ample selection of food to choose from. After eating, there
is an adjoining market where you can pick up various mediterrannean and
middle eastern foods.

feta cheese , the prices are very reasonable. I recommend this place eat
their shish kabob..

MY REVIEW: FINALLY, a place where you can get a fresh, quick
Mediterranean meal on this side of town. I've been there four times and
each time it's been great. They have a small dining area and an attached
grocery which carries Mediterranean foods including TURKISH which is
very hard to find. Turkish is my favorite cuisine and their Kofta kebab
is just as good as the kebabs at I*stanbul Grill in the Village. I
always get a container of the fresh hummus and some pita bread to take
home. The ambience is serviceable, but the food is wonderful!

MY REVIEW: Having finally given in to my husband's taste for
Mediterranean food - we gave this place a shot one day. My husband
ordered the some kind of lamb plate with a greek salad and I (trying to
be on the safe side) ordered a greek salad with a side of pita bread and
tziki sauce. The food here was AWESOME! I absolutely never have liked
the taste of lamb, but sampled some of my husbands and found it to be
very tasty. The salad was fresh and quantities ample. They even brought
us out an order of baba ganoush (spelling?) that also had very good
flavor. As a person who really never likes to eat Mediterranean - I am
putting this place at the top of my list and we defintely will be eating
there again!
