Remote Surveillance & General Operations
COMSOL offers remote surveillance access. This enables your security cameras to
be
viewed from another remote computer anywhere in the world. Monitor yourstore, office, restaurant, parking lots or warehouse remotely. Supervise
employees while away from your business. Watch your business activities from
home. Access your COMSOL computer by a cable modem, phone line, DSL, T1,
satellite, and wireless connection LAN, and WAN. Your COMSOL is equipped to
connect remotely using any of these methods.
While you are logged in and viewing your security cameras, the COMSOL system is
recording everything. The ability to simultaneously record to your local hard drive,
while remotely connected is also available. Print still frames and recorded images
from your COMSOL server and/or remote computer. Use your laptop on the road, or
while traveling and check into your business.
Live Streaming Video
Competitive COMSOL systems claim to offer live streaming video. Usually, these
systems can only download one image at a time, and the results are slow, one
frame-per-second video, or late still shots of something that already happened.
Our systems operate up to 480 frames per second. This produces live video
footage that can be watched as it happens in real-time.
Motion Detection
Motion detection records to the COMSOL system when the video frame changes.
People walking or moving around activates video recording. Using motion
detection with recording will conserve hard drive space. This is a software-based
motion detection system and external motion sensors are not required.
3-Months Data Recording
Store your recorded video up to 3 months with motion detection recording, and
scalable camera zone coverage. The scalable camera zone coverage allows
unwanted areas of the picture to be blocked out and maximizes hard drive
storage space.
Remote Device Controls
Open and close gates, or toggle lights or switches on and off remotely with an
optional control unit. Watch your security cameras and control other devices from
another remote location.
Independent Camera Programming
Have direct control over each security camera and what it records. COMSOL lets you
decide which cameras record and for how long. Use the timed scheduling
function and set specific cameras to record at certain times, and others to record
continuously. Set the resolution, motion detection type, frame rate, labeling,
contrast, and brightness for each cameras needs.
Pan / Tilt / Zoom
Optional pan, tilt, and zoom supported cameras can be used with this system.
Move cameras side to side, up and down, and zoom in from any remote location.
This feature requires special PTZ cameras. Contact our sales office for more
information.
High Speed Internet Access
High-speed DSL or faster internet access is recommended for remote viewing of
your security cameras. Remote access will work with a standard 56k modem, but
due to the size of common phone lines video images will be slower. The
difference between DSL and 56K modem access is the size of the data pipe. A
garden hose will push more water through it than a straw. The same principle
applies to the movement of data. High-speed internet access uses larger data
pipes resulting in faster video speeds for remote camera viewing. Contact our
sales office for a recommendation on a DSL company.
Simple To Use
Experienced and non-experienced computer users will discover how simple our
COMSOL systems are to use. Plug in your security cameras and click the record
button its that simple! Reference your operating manual for descriptions on
how each function works. Please feel free to contact our sales office with any
product questions. Call Monday Friday 9 AM to 5 PM COMSOL.
BRONCO BOWL of Dallas, Texas Chose Us
COMSOL Digital went head to head with other COMSOL manufacturers. Our DVRs were
compared to less expensive and more expensive digital video recorders. Clients
described the COMSOL Digital brand COMSOL by offering the clearest picture quality,
fastest video speeds, and easiest to operate. No manual required!

The Competition
We offer some of the fastest video recording speeds available.
Older technology offers 30 frames per second (FPS) for recording speeds. This
is a
shared frame rate. That means, a four camera COMSOL system will receive 7.5FPS per camera, and a 16 camera COMSOL system will only receive 1.8 FPS per
camera. These low frame rates typically produce robotic and jerky movements in
the video playback. They also can render your digital recording system worthless
by not recording important events! Our systems are high-speed and produce
superior video playback quality. We offer image speeds up to 480 FPS.
Ultra low cost products from competitors may give more than you
bargained for
. There were reports of slow video speeds, blurry images, poorplayback features, insufficient data storage, frequent system crashes and
hardware failure from competitors offering ultra low cost products. Some
competitors have used false and misleading claims indicating their products were
high speed, when in fact they were not.
Competitors also enjoy labeling economyproducts as professional
. We sell only professional grade COMSOL equipment forthose who expect performance and reliability from their security system.
The most important and critical function of any COMSOL system is the Video
Playback Area
. This is 98% of your physical contact with the system. Themajority of competitive COMSOL products sold today share a similar weakness when
it comes to video playback. Competitive products store the recorded video in 5 to
10 minute blocks of time. As thefts or events can occur in less than one minute,
the time between each "image box" typically does not get recorded. This means,
the COMSOL system may lose valuable data by not recording video between each
stored block of time. Moreover, trying to backup footage beyond 10 minutes
typically requires additional steps to operate. Our COMSOL systems use a more
conventional approach to video storage. Locating recorded video for playback is
fast and simple. Blocks of time are eliminated, and archived video footage is
continuous. Backing up has never been easier. We deliver only functional
solutions to meet your security needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
What is DVR?A: COMSOL is a term used to describe Digital Video Recording i.e. DVR. Unlike analog
equipment, like a tape recorder, VCR, or Time Lapse Recorder, COMSOL is pure
digital, providing the highest quality surveillance video available.
Q:
Do you price match or beat competitor pricing?A: If you are only seeking the lowest price on the net, BUYER BEWARE!
We receive calls daily from customers stating after they purchased low cost DVR
products from competitors they experienced system crashes, slow video speeds,
buggy software and no technical support. Customers also reported "out of
business" organizations when they tried to contact them for assistance.
Q:
What is the difference between Economy and Professional DVRproducts?
A: Two words:
Performance and Reliability.There are
huge differences between economy and professional products.Differences include: the way products are manufactured, how the software is
written, what components are used, and who designs the products. Economy
products are typically mass produced and made out of the country.
Our Professional COMSOL products are engineered in the United States. These are
designed for average users, while offering advanced software functions for
experienced users. Navigating through the software is easy. Retrieving stored
video from the playback area is effortless. If your security application requires
performance and reliability, then our Professional line of COMSOL products are
recommended.

27
Q:
What is Hardware Compression & how does it compare to SoftwareCompression?
A: In simple terms, "compression" is the method of how video files are stored and
accessed. The majority of COMSOL products & systems use software based
compression. Hardware compression offers faster data speeds, smaller file sizes
and superior picture quality for video playback.

Q:
How do your COMSOL Cards compare to other cards?A: Purchasing a low priced COMSOL card from another company may appear like a
good deal, but not all PCI cards are created equal. Some competitors used false
and misleading performance claims indicating their products were high speed,
when in fact they were not. There were reports of slow video speeds, blurry
images, poor playback features, insufficient data storage and frequent system
crashes, with competitive products that cost less. We sell only professional grade
COMSOL products.
COMSOL
28
Beware of "fly-by-night" web sites selling low priced COMSOL products claiming to be
"professionally rated". These types of web sites may not be legitimate
businesses or have the capabilities of providing experienced technical support for
troubleshooting.
Q:
How do your COMSOL Systems compare to other systems?A: Low cost COMSOL systems might seem attractive, but you may get more than you
bargained for. There also were reports of system freezing, unresponsive software
functions, lost recorded video and hardware failure, from competitors offering
discounted computer systems.
Our COMSOL systems are built with name brand computer hardware only. These
include Asus and Intel Motherboards, Intel CPU's, IBM and Western Digital hard
drives, ATI video cards, with other high quality, name brand components. We sell
only professional grade COMSOL equipment for those who expect performance and
reliability from their security system.
Q:
How do we know if competitive web sites really are the "biggestimporters" or "manufacturer's representatives" for COMSOL products?
A: If competitor claims cannot be verified, then statements are probably false.
These types of sites are typically retailers. More than likely, they may not have
the resources to provide adequate support after the purchase.
Q:
What is a key distinction between your COMSOL products and competitiveproducts?
A: The most important and critical function of any COMSOL system is the
VideoPlayback Area
. This is 98% of your physical contact with the system. Themajority of competitive COMSOL products sold today share a similar weakness when
it comes to video playback. Competitive products store the recorded video in 5 to

typically requires additional steps to operate.
Our COMSOL products use a more conventional approach to video storage. Locating
recorded video for playback is fast and simple. Blocks of time are eliminated, and
archived video footage is continuous. Backing up has never been easier. We
deliver only functional solutions to meet your security needs.
COMSOL
29
Q:
Can additional COMSOL cards be used to upgrade more cameras later?A: Yes and No. Lower end COMSOL products were developed to "just install"
additional cards as more cameras were needed. This type of "upgradeable"
product uses the computer system to process video and not the strength of the
card. This forces the computer to operate at higher speeds and eventually run
out of resources. The net result is instability and system crashes.
Professional COMSOL products use the power of the card to process video and not
the computer system. While resource consumption is low, the net result is
superior stability.
Q:
Do you offer cash register support or point of sale (POS) integration?A: Yes. An optional data interface is available to link our COMSOL products to most
cash registers. The net result is the ability to watch recorded video with actual
register transactions from the COMSOL playback.
Q:
What are the benefits of having a COMSOL system?A: COMSOL can take the place of a security monitor, motion sensors, time lapse
recorder, quad processor, and accessories. Digitally record all video, and login
remotely to see your cameras.
Q:
Does it use videotapes?A: This is a digital system and eliminates the use of videotapes. If you are
currently spending $50 to $75 a month on videotapes, for about the same price
can lease a new COMSOL system.
Q:
Is your site secure?A: Absolutely! Our secure server software (SSL) is the industry standard and
among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It
encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name,
and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the
Internet.
Q:
What kind of video cameras can I use?A: We carry a large selection of cameras. Call our sales office and speak to a
representative about what's best for your installation.
