These
new DD Separates are an excellent way to upgrade
sound quality at a price that will please any system
budget. These DD Seperates consist of 28mm flush
mounted tweeters, separate woofers and crossovers.
High quality parts are used throughout the
drivers. The surrounds are formed from a high loss
but light weight rubber to smooth the frequency
response and keep the sensitivity as high as
possible. The surround is attached to an injection
molded, mineral filled polypropylene cone. This
makes a rigid cone with good internal damping.
The voice coil uses the highest temperature wire
wound on a reinforced, black anodized aluminum coil
former. The machined motor structure helps keep the
tolerances tight while providing the high energy
magnetic strength needed for today's high output
demands.
The tweeter is a 28mm, back vented neo magnet
system with liquid cooling. The metal alloy
diaphragm provides smooth response by moving breakup
modes beyond the audible frequency range. The
lightness of the diaphragm contributes to higher
sensitivity and less strain at a given volume.
The crossover uses high power handling/low
inductance parts, film capacitors and high voltage
electrolytics. The laminated steel coils keep
resistance low, cutting output losses to a minimum.
A solid state fuse helps to keep the system safe
when accidental overloads occur. The connections are
gold plated to prevent corrosion. The tinsel leads
run through the spiders to eliminate potential
buzzing and improve durability.
The kits come with everything needed to mount in
just about any situation, included are two
crossovers, speaker wire, speaker grills and
mounting tabs/screws.
The new DD Separates bring high-end performance
within reach of any enthusiast, giving high value,
ease of installation and high fidelity.

DD
introduces a new line of coaxial speakers in 4",
5.25", 6.5", 5x7 and 6x9 sizes. These CX Series
speakers have been designed to more compact
dimensions than the DDC Seperates making
installations possible in a wider range of vehicles.
These coax units are focused on smooth response
found mainly in separate components. They share the
same type of injection molded, mineral filled poly
cones, rubber surrounds and 28mm vented back tweeter
from our component line. The shallower profile
reduces needed mounting depth while oversized voice
coil diameters allow maximum heat dissapation. The
coils use high temperature wire wound on black
anodized aluminum formers reinforced with layers of
insulating Nomex.
The tweeter is one of the largest available for
coax units at 28mm. The large diameter makes high
efficiency and high power handling possible without
having to use harsher sounding cone type tweeters.
It is more expensive to use 28mm, vented back neo
magnet tweeters than common cone type units, but it
is the best way to get increased output with smooth
response. The tweeters are mounted at 15 degree
offset to allow some shaping to the desired
soundfield.
The CX line uses many high end design elements,
tinsel leads are incorporated into the spiders,
filtering is by high DF factor, 100Volt capacitors,
secondary overcoat on all glue joints and rear
vented tweeter housings. The CX line can bring
separate component sound quality to the harder to
fit applications. |

The Z series
represent the pinnacle of transducer archeology. The
unique design dates back to the precocious era of
unequivocal magnetism and the vector planar research
of underwater acoustic proliferation. The open
archeology concentrates flux lines in the magnetic
gap while side lobbing interference cancels stray
flux from entering the atmosphere. The result is
increased efficiency over the entire bandwidth of
collaborating bass frequencies. This allows the Z
Series woofers to play amazingly loud with little
wasted energy being dissipated as unwarranted heat,
this means they get on it and don't get real hot.
The Z Series breaks new ground in rare earth
magnetics, using newly discovered material, neo-demetrious
iron proton (Ned), incalculably more strenuous than
the other discovered rare earth magnet material. Ned
is highly unstable and very difficult to modulate,
yet alone saturate, so its use is mainly limited to
noncommercial phase generators used in anti-matter
plasma generation. Digital Designs has acquired the
rights to use Ned magnetics in non-military acoustic
weaponry and the peaceful development of humanistic
cohesion through harmonizing wave generation. The
unstable Ned blocks are held in symmetry by the side
lobe interference which allows the use of the catchy
monolithic block shapes from that cool 2001 space
movie. These are spatially arrayed to over saturate
the Permendur top plate imported from Switzerland in
one of those really beautiful, lake filled mountian
valleys, giving huge magnetic energy to drive the
voice coils.
The moving parts of the Z Series have undergone a
minute amount of scrutiny also, the cones feature
newly contrived composite materials to handle the
extra load lines emulating from the motor, the voice
coils are spiral wound in reversing layer directions
for optimum efficiency and the voice coil former is
really strong. The combined technological oeuvre
nearly eliminates all chance of spurious effluvium
from occuring. The spiders also feature new
technology never found on arachnid based
suspensions, silkaleneotton. Genetically altered
spiders produce a chemical blended thread of silk,
polyethylene and cotton. This synthetic blend is
superior to our other synthetic blend. The new
synthetic blend is stronger than standard arachnid
fiber, more flexible than polyunsaturated
polyethylene, lighter than water (it actually
floats) and yet so soft and comfortable. This
material can stretch to 1.7 times its weight,
allowing for un-presidential travel.
The new Z Series woofers have more Watts than any
speakers we have ever built, so many Watts they got,
that we thought of using a new slogan, Got Watts?,
but that’s lame so we didn't. We tried to measure
the exact amount of Watts a Z Series makes, but no
matter how hard we tried to invent a machine to
measure the speaker Watts, we could never do it, so
they must really make lot of Watts.
We, at DD, strive to push the boundaries of a lot
of things that are a big hassle to deal with. And
why did we do all this... because we want to.

The 9500
'g' Series was designed with a singular goal in
mind, to achieve the highest possible volume levels
and to do so with the lowest possible distortion.
The 9500 models are the most copied and cloned subs
in today's car audio market, some even copy the
name.
The new 'g' series design takes the 95's to even
higher performance levels with a magnet system
utilizing over 23 pounds of material and increasing
the number of machined cooling vents.. These goals
combine high efficiency, extended range of motion
and high power handling in one package. 95's are
engineered without compromise, and without a
marketing department trying to capitalize on trendy
fads. The long gap design keeps the highly efficient
voice coils under power beyond 3 inches of throw.
Voice coil control at extreme levels is crucial to
clean output. The machined motor structure features
the FREE FLOW COOLING SYSTEM which pumps cooling air
through and around the voice coil with each and
every stroke.
The SFB cone is a model of a high
strength-to-weight ratio modern cone. These
synthetic blend cones are strong enough not to flex
at extreme power levels and light enough to react to
quickly changing signals. The cone fibers like
Kevlar, Polyester and Sisal allow less material to
have higher strength than conventional cones and
this low mass contributes to a fast transient
response, which in turn lowers distortion. The
suspension must also be engineered to many
conflicting criteria to lower distortion at high
excursion. The surround is the now often imitated
EROM profile. This DD innovation allows long
excursion while lowering mass and maximizing cone
area. The spiders follow the same principal, reduce
the surface area while increasing the corrugation
heights. This results in long controlled motions
while minimizing coil rocking and unwanted moving
mass.
The 9500 'g' Series might be the ultimate woofer,
hand assembled to the tightest tolerances in order
to reproduce music as exact as possible, at whatever
volume level you desire.

The 9100
series drivers are long magnetic field designs that
have been optimized for high speed and low
distortion. These drivers receive many of the
improvements that R&D has developed on the 9500 and
9900 series drivers. The all new 9100s are true
audiophile quality drivers that will excel in any
application such as mobile audio, home theater,
recording studios and esoteric high end audio.
Longer Magnetic Fields: The
magnetic energy has been increased and a longer
magnetic gap engineered to take advantage of that
energy, over 60mm of linear field for the voice coil
to travel in. A new 160 ounce magnet powers the
motor that features our exclusive Free Flow Cooling
System
New Spiders: A new spider
topology was developed to increase the linear
suspension travel and further reduce sources of
distortion. This dual spider design is capable of
increased throw with necessary control at high
excursion.
New Double Lead Wires: The
new double lead wire system is laminated into the
spiders. This lowers the resistance added by the
leads and provides redundancy for reliability.
New Cone Formula: A synthetic
blend of fibers was developed with high rigidity as
the goal while keeping the moving mass low. The
synthetic fibers and resins we use make for a very
rigid cone, which will not flex at high G-loads, and
it passes along the signal as it was intended.
New Surround: The EROM
surround replaces the previous half roll surround to
increase excursion. The surround stiffness has been
optimized with the spider suspension to add
restoring force to the moving system while providing
centering and stabilization under power.
New Voice Coil: The new dual
4 ohm coil was developed to reside in the long
magnetic gap. Although this coil is lightweight and
short in winding length, it is made with the highest
temperature adhesives available. This combination
yields low mass with excellent power handling.

The 3500
series is now optionally available with a Composite
Cone!
The new 3500 'e' Series subwoofers have been
redesigned to utilize more features and
manufacturing techniques from the 9500 series. The
"e" series changes include new cast baskets with
more cooling and more excursion, larger magnets (the
magnet weight jumps to 200 ounces), longer coil
windings and increased internal motor cooling.
The 35s feature the same voice coils used in the
9500 Series - 3 inches in diameter with longer
winding lengths than the previous Series. This large
diameter voice coil and high energy motor combine to
produce the tremendous amount of force needed to
reproduce the impact in today’s bass intensive
music. This motor system also utilizes the DD
exclusive FREE FLOW COOLING SYSTEM, we increased the
number of vents to spread the heat dissapation over
a wider area. Seperate cooling vents machined into
the voice coil, top plate and pole piece focus
cooling air into the magnetic gap and around both
sides of the voice coil with every up and down
stroke. This high-tech, precision machined cooling
system actually lowers the working temperature of
the voice coil, thereby lowering the stress on the
entire audio system. The harder the speaker works,
the more air is blown onto the coil wire, cool, huh.
Its one of our patent-pending designs and it's only
on DD products.
The 3500e also uses our American made, Synthetic
Spider Suspension, our Synthetic Fiber Blend (SFB)
cone stock, and EROM surrounds. The lead wires are
Direct Connection terminations with 10 gauge battery
cable hook-up wire. These features combine to make
the 3500e Series drivers capable of over 3.0 inches
of useable, continuous excursion. The 3500e Series
are all about extracting every last bit of
efficiency from a system design.
In keeping with stringent DD standards, the 35s
have low moving mass, use a well controlled
suspension and are powered by our own precision
machined motor assemblies. These features make the
3500e Series driver a perfect choice for a wide
variety of system designs. The 3500 Series woofers
have been part of award winning SQ systems, brutal
ground-pounders, record setting SPL cars and
countless enthusiast systems around the world. The
DD way isn't the most cost effective way to build
speakers, in fact its about 180 degrees off, but it
produces the best speakers possible.

The 2500 'a'
Series subwoofers were designed to extract the
highest performance from today's power crazy car
audio systems. High powered sound systems require
high power subs that are built to handle the load.
The 2500s match up well with the 500-800 Watt RMS
amps driving a single woofer, or the 1000-1600 Watt
RMS amps driving a pair. As is with DD's common
design practice, the 25s share the same materials as
the 35/95s, but with the 2500 motor designed for
it's target excursion and power range.
Optimum performance requires a unique blend of
design parameters/materials for these subs to hit
hard, sound great and last a long time. The motor
uses dual 25mm thick magnets sandwiched between 12mm
thick, machined steel plates. Internal cooling vents
from our Free Flow Cooling System keep fresh air
circulating around the voice coil. The 2.5" voice
coil diameter has sufficient surface area to handle
the long term heat buildup while low enough in mass
to keep high efficiency. The coil is coupled to our
strong, multi-fiber cone that is reinforced with an
epoxy based dustcap. The EROM surround is efficient
in both excursion and minimal mass. The suspension
follows our philosophy of multiple spider layers for
tight bass with low fatigue over the long haul. The
lead wires are laminated into these spider layers
which further enhance durability and sound quality.
All our subs are hand assembled, rigorously
tested and retested. We use multiple glue types and
multiple glue joints for all attachment points. We
use the most electrically efficient connections,
direct copper to copper, the Direct Connect.
Cosmetic options include real hand-laid Carbon Fiber
dustcaps if so desired.
The 2500 Series subs are the perfect choice for
systems stepping up in long term power requirements.
The coils are designed using materials with the
highest heat resistance on the market and are driven
by a precision machined motor structure. The
fatigue-resistant parts of the suspension use the
finest USA made materials that can be found. These
are subs designed to do a job and do it well, to
fill your car with the kind of sound that makes you
want to keep driving. We've spared no expense to
deliver the goods.

The 1500
Series woofers are based on the 35/95 series design
standards, bringing bass with power and authority to
systems designed with 300-500 Watt RMS/per driver
power levels.
The 1500 Series start with a powerful motor
design using a 50mm thick magnet section, thick
steel plates with 12mm thick magnet gap. The motor
design is topped off with machined cooling vents
from our Free Flow Cooling System pumping fresh air
around the voice coil. The voice coil uses the same
grade wire as our 9500 Series, the same high
temperature capability and the same adhesives.
The surround uses our EROM profile to give long,
controlled excursion while keeping the cone diameter
as large as possible. This profile also saves mass
over the sculpted rubber surrounds and inner tube
style surrounds, less mass makes ours louder and
faster. We developed new tri-laminated surround
material which is highly elastic and very tough,
perfect for daily rugged use. The cone is our
multi-fiber blend designed for high strength and low
weight, again, lighter is louder and faster.
The suspension in a subwoofer takes a real
pounding, so the 1500 Series uses proven materials
from the 35/9500 Series. The most durable spider
materials are used in multi-spider arrangements in
order to provide long but controlled excursion. We
laminate our lead wires between spider layers to
eliminate lead slap and broken lead wires. Our
laminations cost more to produce, take longer to
make, and take longer to assemble. They are built
with USA made materials and tinsel lead, they are
formed in the USA, cut, trimmed and laminated into
spider assemblies in-house. Making longer lasting
speakers doesn't happen by accident, it's a
methodical and purposeful endeavor.
All our subs are hand assembled, rigorously
tested and retested. We use multiple glue types and
multiple glue joints for all attachment points. We
use the most electrically efficient connections,
direct copper to copper, the Direct Connect.
Cosmetic options include real hand-laid Carbon Fiber
dustcaps, if so desired.
The 1500 Series subs are the real deal; high
quality subs at an affordable price that sound great
while being as durable as possible. We think you
should be able to enjoy your system for years to
come, and then move your DDs to the next car you
buy.

The new 510
and 512 woofers bring DD impact and durability to
the most affordable price ranges we've ever offered.
You still get the hand built, high performance
quality at a price within every budget. The 500
Series was designed to optimize performance from
amplifiers in the 100-300 watt RMS range. Not
everyone is going to try to crush their tonsils with
the latest bass jacked MP3, but that doesn't mean
one should have to settle for lower quality parts or
design.
The 500 series woofers benefit from the highest
quality parts available, close production
tolerances, and hand built quality as do all DD
woofers. The motor and moving systems have been
designed to get higher efficiency from lower powered
systems. We found ways to reduce mass from the cone,
surround, spiders and voice coil which raises the
efficiency on a given level of power. The suspension
stiffness and excursion capability were carefully
dialed in through many real world test samples. The
result is a very fast woofer capable of delivering
surprising output from modest power sources.
The 500s feature multiple layers of durable cloth
in the spider system, our exclusive laminated lead
wires into the spider layers, double laminated
half-roll surround, non-pressed cone and a motor
system modeled after the 3500 Series woofers. The
510 and 512 are very easy to use in vented, sealed,
and band-pass boxes and are the perfect presents in
gift boxes. Now there aren't any excuses to get a DD
system in every car.

The DDW6.5
mid-bass/mid-range driver was designed to deliver
the widest possible bandwidth while providing a fast
transient response with high levels of long term
power handling. The cone is a composite blend of
Kevlar fibre, carbon fibre and a very stiff and
lightweight resin.
This
combination has an excellent strength to weight
ratio that is light enough to react quickly to
complex signals yet rigid enough not to flex when
subjected to extreme power levels. The surround is a
well dampened rubber half roll. The motor structure
incorporates long magnetic field technology which
ensures precise control over cone excursions and
efficiently dissipates heat from the voice coil.
The voice
coil former is made from black anodized aluminum
layered with arimid fiber and wound with the wire
capable of enduring temperatures to 500 degrees F.
The dual flat spider suspension is made from
synthetic materials to give the smoothest response
and long lasting durability.
The lead
wires are laminated into the layers and run across
opposite sides to even out weight over the moving
system. The leads are terminated in 10ga. copper
wire for the most efficient electrical transfer.
The DDW6.5
makes an excellent subwoofer in space limited
systems and great for high powered midbass
applications.
